With more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, Karen D. Scherer has dedicated her career to helping individuals and families protect what matters most. She spent the first 15 years of her career as sales manager for a large captive agency, where she developed a strong foundation in leadership, customer service, and personalized protection planning.

For the past decade, Karen has served as an independent agency owner, providing clients with freedom and flexibility to choose from a broad network of trusted insurance carriers—always with a relationship-driven approach focused on trust and integrity.

Formerly operating as G&S Insurance Solutions, an Independent GlobalGreen Franchise Agency, Karen led her team with an unwavering commitment to service and excellence. Through the GlobalGreen Insurance network, she has helped hundreds of family’s secure coverage tailored to their needs.

On December 8, 2025, G&S Insurance Solutions transitioned into the Brightway Insurance network, and the agency proudly adopted its new name—Scherer Family Agency—a reflection of its mission: a family-centered, faith-driven dedication to serving the community with honesty, compassion, and care.

Karen is married to her high school sweetheart, Mike, and together they are lifelong residents of Parker County. They have two grown children and are the proud grandparents of eight grandchildren. Deeply rooted in their community, Karen and Mike are active members of Neon Life Church and regularly support local outreach and ministry efforts.

Grounded in faith, family, and a genuine desire to help others, Karen continues to make a meaningful impact—one client, one family, and one relationship at a time.

 

Michael J. Driver is a dedicated Property & Casualty insurance agent with six years of experience serving families and business owners through G&S Insurance Solutions, a GlobalGreen Independent Franchise Agency. He is passionate about helping people secure dependable, easy-to-understand coverage tailored to what matters most in their lives.

Michael is excited to begin a new chapter as he transitions to the Brightway Insurance – Scherer Family Agency sales team. While clients will continue to work with the same trusted team they know and rely on, this new partnership brings expanded tools, resources, and carrier options, empowering the agency to provide even stronger insurance solutions and an elevated client experience.

A lifelong resident of the community for more than 45 years, Michael and his wife, Shelly, are raising their three wonderful children here. The community they call home has shaped his values, his work ethic, and his heart for serving others.

Outside the insurance world, Michael is an ordained pastor at Myriad Church, where he leads the Student Ministry for grades 6–12. Walking alongside students in their spiritual growth is one of the greatest blessings of his life. Service is not just part of his work—it is part of who he is, guiding him to honor God in every decision he makes.

After spending two decades in retail management, Chad Lightfoot gained invaluable experience in customer service, communication, and building meaningful relationships. It was during those years that he discovered his true gift—conversation—and his natural ability to put people at ease.

In 2019, Chad transitioned from retail leadership into Property & Casualty insurance with G&S Insurance, a GlobalGreen Independent Franchise Agency. For the past six years, he has devoted his career to helping individuals and families find insurance solutions that genuinely fit their needs and their budgets.

As the agency moves from a GlobalGreen partner to Brightway Insurance, Chad is excited for what the future holds. This new partnership means greater resources, more carrier options, and even more opportunities to serve clients with excellence.

Outside of work, Chad enjoys spending quality time with his wife of 20 years, Stormie, and their two sons. He’s a lifelong sports fan and an avid collector of sports cards and memorabilia—a hobby that keeps him connected to the games and moments he loves most.

Jo Sorensen has been a licensed insurance agent for 40 years, proudly serving the Parker County community for nearly five decades. She is known for her strengths in customer support and her ability to build lasting, meaningful client relationships. One of her greatest skills is guiding upset or overwhelmed clients toward clarity—helping them leave not only reassured, but more knowledgeable and confident in their coverage.

Throughout her career, Jo has worked on both sides of the industry—as a captive agent and as an independent agent—giving her a well-rounded perspective and the experience to navigate any insurance situation.

Outside the office, she enjoys watching movies, solving puzzles, and reading Stephen King novels.

Jo is genuinely excited about the transition from G&S Insurance Solutions to the Brightway Sales Team.
